Turbo Oven: Fact or Fiction
The Flavor Wave Turbo Oven was recently introduced on the cooking scene through TV infomercials that touted the product as a quick and easy solution to preparing healthy meals for your family in just a fraction of the normal cooking time. So when I heard about this revolutionary tool, I jumped on the bandwagon to see what all the type was about. Here's what I found out…
The Flavor Wave Turbo works great. The first meal I made with the product consisted of a family favorite – meat and potatoes. I took sausage directly out of the freezer and added it to the turbo oven. It cooked quickly and effortlessly, but I was still a little skeptical of how it was going to taste. So, I took it to the kids, who are the toughest critics around. They raved about how juicy and moist the meal was and asked why I didn't make it more often.
After dinner, cleaning the turbo oven was just as easy. It has a self-cleaning mode, which works great. I have to tell you, I was really impressed. Anything that makes my job as a mom easier is a plus in my book. I'm a Flavor Wave Turbo Oven convert!

Benefits of Buckwheat Pillows
Have you seen the recent infomercials touting the benefits of Sobakawa, or buckwheat filled pillows? It seems like we are finally catching up to what the Asians discovered hundreds of years ago. Buckwheat pillows are filled with all natural dried buckwheat, which is hypoallergenic. This substance contours to the shape of your neck and head, giving you a quality of sleep like you've never had before. The pillows regain their shape after you wake up, so you don't have to deal with flat non-supportive pillows.
Buckwheat pillows offer many health benefits as well. They have been recommended by health care professionals to assist with everything from headaches and soreness to stress and insomnia. Some even claim that the support they offer eliminates or reduces snoring. The buckwheat pillow provides orthopedic benefits that prevent muscles from cramping up while you sleep. This in turn leaves you feeling rested and revived in the morning, just as you should after a solid night's sleep.
Plus, buckwheat pillows actually keep your head cool, so if you're one that tends to overheat while you sleep, these are the perfect solution. Especially for summer, it's a great time to try buckwheat pillows and start reaping the benefits they offer. You'll never go back to another type of pillow again.

Trend Watch: Girly Necklaces
It’s true that pearls have long been a fashion staple, but this year, pearl necklaces have taken off in a big way. Sure, Michelle Obama has had something to do with this fashion resurgence, but pearl necklaces are all the rage lately. The trend for pearl necklaces is whimsical, fun and free-spirited, with designs ranging from gumball size stones to necklaces that are embellished with pearls, rhinestones and charms. With one of these lookers, you can keep the rest of your look simple and let your necklace shine.
Bow necklaces are also extremely in demand right now. Bow necklaces are reminiscent of childhood and are dainty and innocent in nature. Look for bow necklaces in the form of pendants for everyday wear, or statement choker necklaces adorned with fabric or crystals for a fun night-on-the-town look. Again, with necklaces that are busy, keep the rest of your outfit toned down and let the necklace take center stage.
Necklaces with pink stones are another hot ticket item. Celebs like Mariah Carey love pink diamonds, but if you can’t afford a multi-million dollar pendant, you can still imitate the look with a heart shaped Cubic Zirconia necklace.
Girly necklaces are fun to wear and offer a certain childhood fondness. These necklaces pair well with contrasting pieces like a black dress or a white tank top. It’s best to wear smaller necklaces to the office, and save the eclectic designs for after hours, weekends or vacation. It’s then that these necklaces will really help you shine.

Must-Have Summer Necklaces
Some of the most popular buys of the season are shell and coral necklaces. These pieces are fine to wear to the beach, versatile enough to wear out and the perfect accessory for get-a-ways to far off places. In fact, when you travel, you can find some great shell necklaces that are inexpensive and unique. The great thing about these necklaces is that the stones are imperfect, giving in to their natural form and finish. So it’s perfectly okay to wear a necklace that is earthly and a little unfinished; it’s part of the charm of this trend.
If you are looking for a way to dress up a LBD (little black dress), bright necklaces in turquoise and coral can be just the ticket. They add just the right pop of color that will grab attention and have all eyes on you. Or, add a long pendant necklace with a beach inspired charm, such as a starfish or shell. This signature piece looks fantastic when set in gold, and can just as easily be worn with a peasant blouse, a sundress or jeans and a tank top.
So the next time you find yourself daydreaming about far off destinations like tropical beaches and secluded islands, consider bringing some of that vibe home with you. Simply throw on a shell or beach inspired necklaces for a little taste of relaxation. And don’t be afraid to layer these necklaces with ones that you already own. After all, summer is about carefree style that isn’t too fussy.

What You Need to Know When You Shop Online
1) Look for a secure logo or icon (i.e. Buyer Protection, Security Metrics, etc.). These symbols mean that the information you send during your purchase transaction (i.e. credit card information, name and address) are encrypted. You can usually find these logos at the bottom of the store home page or in the shopping cart during your checkout process.
2) Look for a plainly visible contact number. You always want to have the peace of mind that the
e-tailor you’re visiting is easy to contact, should the need arise. Clearly stated contact numbers should be offered, and established vendors will usually provide a toll free number for your convenience. Also, look for a mailing address for added reassurance.
3) Look for clearly stated shipping and handling. Make sure you know exactly what you are paying for shipping and handling charges. These costs should be displayed with the product or in the shopping cart during your check out process. This provides you with a complete cost, and helps to avoid sticker shock down the line. Some e-tailers(like most as seen on TV stores) even provide shipment tracking once your order has been mailed.
4) Look for clearly stated purchase policies. When you shop online, it’s important to know the rules for returns and exchanges. Make sure you’re informed and that the store has a section like FAQs or links to their purchase policy. This provides a certain reassurance, and from an e-tailor point of view, will increase the possibility that you become a repeat customer.

Best TV Infomercial Products of 2009
You’re probably noticed a flood of new infomercial products hitting the market this year. Infomercial products are great for mind, body and home. They make great gifts and offer great advantages in technology and innovation.
This year, we’ve seen more than a few revolutionary products take off. For example, the ShamWow has been a hot seller for many months, offering quick clean up power with a super soft shammy material that won’t scratch surfaces. The concept behind this type of infomercial product is simply improving upon a common clean up method. It’s these kinds of infomercial products that are so great.
Another common household name is the Snuggie. This infomercial product became a true phenomenon as men, women and children all got in on the Snuggie trend. That’s one of the big draws of infomercial products – they are fun, functional and cost efficient. Therefore, it’s reasonable to try one or two products during these tough times. After all, infomercial products can be ordered from the comfort of your own home and they are great when you need to get away from the realities of everyday life. Some of the newest infomercial products focus on creating in-home spa experiences that provide salon quality results for just a fraction of the cost of pricier treatments. So the next time you need to get away, try infomercial products that make life a little more enjoyable and a little less stressful.
